At this pivotal juncture, mental health professionals are called upon to meet individuals on their self-directed paths toward healing. This workshop serves as a guide for psychologists seeking to offer clinical and ethical support in integrating non-ordinary states of consciousness.
By the conclusion of this workshop's journey, participants will be equipped to describe the cultural, historical, and legal frameworks surrounding PAT for the use of integration; identify best practices for integration within a holistic model; and assess a clinical case example to create a plan for integration. It is with these objectives in mind, psychologists can support the integration of centuries-old healing benefits of sacred medicines for the Western world.
Learning Objectives:
1. Explain two benefits of integrating altered states of consciousness within the context of Western society. 2. List at least three therapeutic modalities that support integration.
3. Describe five approaches to integration in a clinical case example.
