SVPA has several membership levels:
Full Membership These persons hold one of the following: a doctorate in psychology (or an equivalent degree), are licensed as a psychologist in California, or have a Diploma from the American Board of Professional Psychology. Full Members shall have all of the rights and privileges of SVPA membership including the right to vote or hold office.
Associate Membership These persons are actively licensed for mental health practice in California and are primarily engaged in such practice or employment, but not licensed in California as psychologists. Examples of such persons are those licensed and practicing as MFTs or LCSWs. This category shall be entitled to all rights and privileges of SVPA except for voting and holding office.
Student Membership These persons are actively enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program or who are in an accredited graduate program in psychology or other doctoral program leading to eligibility for licensure in California as a psychologist. This category shall be entitled to all rights and privileges of SVPA except for voting and holding office.
NOTE: Membership dues cover a full calendar year, beginning in January and ending the following January. After January dues cannot be pro-rated.
