 Steve McCormick, PhD will provide a presentation on "The Evaluation and Proper Treatment of Injured Workers: A Psychologist's Guide"      

  

Description:  

Treating injured workers through the Worker Compensation system can be challenging.  Learning how the system works will allow the astute practitioner to deliver the most appropriate psychotherapeutic interventions. Learn how proper psychological assessment can improve treatment and help the injured worker have a better outcome.


This is a 2 hour presentation, including time for questions.  2 hours of CE's are   offered, approved by the California Psychological Association, for Psychologists, MFT, LCSW CPA is co-sponsoring with SVPA. The California Psychological Association is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists.  CPA maintains responsibility for this program and its contents.  Note: APA CE rules require that we only give credit to those who attend the entire workshop. Those arriving more than 15 minutes after the start time or leaving before the workshop is completed will not receive CE credits.


Objectives: (example) 

As a result of the presentation participants will have a better understanding of the following:  1) Demonstrate knowledge of what happens when an injured worker does not quickly recover from an injury; 2) Describe the various personalities which are present in the room when you interview an injured worker 3) Identify four important aspects of patient assessment within the worker compensation system.
