  • This event is open to students for a discounted admission fee of $5 payable via registration on this website. (Note: student ID required at time of admission)
  • Students who wish to be considered for a presentation slot at this conference. (Please note that registration does not guarantee acceptance of proposed presentations)

We are proud to announce the SVPA's 1st Annual Student Research Conference to be cosponsored by the California State University, Sacramento's College of Social Sciences & Interdisciplinary Studies and held at the University's Alumni Center. This conference will feature 60 poster presentations and four oral presentations of original psychological research conducted by undergraduate and graduate psychology students from psychology programs in the greater Sacramento area.


General Admission:

This event is open to faculty, mental health professionals, and the general public for an admission fee of $10 payable via registration on this website. Non-Presenting students are eligible for a reduced fee of $5 (student ID required at time of admission). Admission includes access to student presentations and a box lunch.


Event Schedule:

  • 09:00am - 10:00am:  Presenter Check-In & Setup
  • 10:00am - 12:00pm:  Student Poster Session #1
  • 12:00pm - 01:00pm:  Lunch & Student Oral Presentations
  • 01:00pm - 03:00pm:  Student Poster Session #2


Student Presenters:

Registration for student presenters is free!!! Students who wish to be considered for a presentation slot at this conference will need to complete both of the following:

  • Complete registration as a presenter on this website by 4/1/2015.
  • Submit a 300 word abstract describing the nature of your research.
Abstract proposals will be judged based on the following criterion:
  • What will the observer of this presentation learn about psychology that she or he did not know before?
  • How well is this information presented?
  • Why is this information important for the field of psychology?
  • How are the claims made in the article justified by the methods used?
The top four presentation proposals will be invited for oral presentation.
